YUKATA-HITOE
In the old days, yukata was a loungewear to be worn after taking a bath, and after the Western-style clothing became common in the Showa era, it was mainly used as a nightgown. Today, the yukata has become one of the most fashionable items to wear during the summer season, and especially women's yukata have many gorgeous patterns and colors.
A kimono without a lining is called "Hitoe". The single-layered kimono is worn from June to September, when the seasons change.
